Make the sugar cookies according to the recipe and cut them out with cookie cutters in your favorite Christmas shapes. Be creative and decorate them with frosting, sugar and candy.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
2 1/4 c. flour
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract

WHAT TO DO:
Cream the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat in the eggs, almond extract and vanilla until fluffy. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Stir into the bowl with the creamed butter and sugar.

Cover the cookie dough in plastic wrap or waxed paper and refrigerate for 6 hours. Roll out the dough with a flour-coated rolling pin to 1/4" thickness on a floured surface. Cut out the cookies with cookie cutters. Decorate. Baked on un-greased cookie sheets for 10-12 minutes at 375° until lightly browned.
