INGREDIENTS:
1 cup bread crumbs
boiling milk
1/2 cup mixed peel
1 apple, grated
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 3/4 cups raisins
juice and rind 1 orange
2 eggs
1 cup shredded suet
1 3/4 cups currants
1 tablespoon almonds
WHAT TO DO:
Saturate the breadcrumbs with the boiling milk.
Add all the other ingredients and stir very well.
Pour into greased basins and steam for 10 hours.
Before using, steam for 2 hours.
Serve with superfine sugar, brandy butter, Cumberland rum butter or cream (clotted or double).
